Q: How much light do these bulbs really put out?
A: About four times more than an incandescent, which means if you have sufficient light with a 100 watt incandescent you will probably be OK with a 23 watt Compact Fluorescent.
Q: What is the "k" rating all about?
A: "k" designates the "Color Temperature" in Degrees Kelvin
The lower color temperature or "k" is a warmer, slightly yellow/white light.
The higher color temperature is a more brilliant appearing blue/white light.
Compact Flourescent bulbs generally range from about 2700k to 6500k.
